The evening will involve midwifery students, friends, midwives, birthing women and cake!,  2 presentations, one from Jacqueline Love- a devoted and passionate midwife whom spent time in Peru with midwives there, and the other from me on my time with the traditional birth attendants in Ghana, followed bya screening of "Give Light" and a discussion regarding the film.   Suggested donation is 5$-10$  which will go to the film maker to complete the making the feature length documentary.

Director Steph Smith was invited as visiting artist by Galeria Tarraco in Tarragona, Spain for a 2ndtest screening of Give Light's: Stories from Indigenous Midwives feature lengthen documentary.  At this event, Steph received critical acclaim from local Tarragona artist and residents and invited to return to present the completed film.  A Q&A followed the screening with in depth dialog surrounding maternity health care in Spain and discussion of the impacts of 10 years closing of the School of Midwifery in Spain.

At the Karam Kriya Women's Circle in Alcover, Spain, an annual international event, director Steph Smith had the opportunity to present a test screening for Give Light's: Stories from Indigenous Midwives feature lengthen documentary.  The documentary was highly received by the international audience and sparked a conversation around the future of midwifery in Europe and on the world health organization reports on global Ceasearan Sections.  Steph received constructive feedback from nurses and midwives from France, Spain, Portugal, Greece and other European countries.  From the event she has been invited to show the film in Crete, Greece in July 2015.
